COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A bear cub is waking up far from Colorado Springs Saturday morning after it got stuck in a tree and was rescued by wildlife authorities.
The Division of Wildlife says the 18-month-old male bear cub will be released about 100 miles from where the tree it climbed Friday. The bear was found near several fast-food restaurants, and officials say the food likely drew the cub to the area.
Officials sedated the cub, the firefighters used a ladder truck to remove him from the tree. Officials said he would be tagged and released.
