The winner: Eric Bergman, Westminster: We went to that museum on a school field trip when I was 7 or 8 years old. INCREDIBLE array of insects from around the globe. Fast forward 30 years or so, and I’m driving down to Cañon City, humming down Highway 115 when I almost drive off the road. Right there on the hill is the giant beetle that I remembered from my childhood. Took my family to the museum a few months later. We now call it the “Museum That Time Forgot” because I’m not sure they’d cleaned it or updated it since I was there in third grade. Nonetheless, it is a charming little attraction, and the proprietors are incredibly gracious.
