Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, below, welcomed MillerCoors to the city Tuesday as its corporate headquarters officially opened.

The 130,000-square-foot building with a 15-year lease is expected to accomodate 300 to 400 employees.

MillerCoors combines Milwaukee-based Miller Brewing Co. with Golden-based Coors Brewing Co., resulting in about 150 to 175 lost jobs in both cities, according to MillerCoors’ website.

However, the company will maintain significant operations in Milwaukee and Golden and plans to make multimillion-dollar investments in both cities.

MillerCoors was created in 2008 by London-based SABMil ler and Denver-based Molson Coors Brewing Co.
