A statement Brandon Marshall made during his 2007 DUI arrest indicates the Denver Broncos wide receiver may have been interested in a trade long before the Broncos coaching change.
According to an Oct. 22, 2007, Denver Police report, Marshall went on a rant about the city.
“Why aren’t you guys out looking for (Darrent) Williams’ killer?” Marshall told a police officer after he was pulled over when he was caught weaving and driving the wrong way down 14th Street near Auraria Parkway.
According to the police report, Marshall went on to say, “I hate Denver. I hope I get traded.”
The report states Marshall at first refused to take a blood alcohol test. Marshall was asking that his lawyer be present before he took the test. Eventually, Marshall did take a breathalyzer test and blew a .116 blood alcohol level. The legal limit in Colorado is .08.
Marshall was cited for a DUI in the incident.
More recently, he is having a contract squabble with the team.
