Two teenage boys setting off fireworks sparked a fire that torched a house trailer in Larimer County.

The incident happened at about 7 p.m. Tuesday at Timber Ridge South Mobile Home Park, according to a media release from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

The unidentified juveniles were setting off fireworks and ignited a shrub. The fire quickly spread to the trailer home.

No one was home at the time, and no one was injured.

The pair, both 14, face charges of fourth-degree arson and criminal mischief, authorities said.

Fireworks that leave the ground or explode are illegal in Colorado unless part of a professional display.

The fireworks the boys were playing with, however, were legal, the Sheriff’s Office said.
