The Denver Fire Department responded quickly to the 16th Street Mall this morning after a shuttle operator noticed her vehicle was smoking and on fire.
A spokesperson for RTD says the battery area on the shuttle started to smoke at around 7:19 a.m. That’s when the driver noticed and pulled the shuttle off the mall immediately.
All of the passengers on board were able to get off the bus safely, and no one was injured.
