There’s only so much our nation’s politicians can do in their limited time in Washington, D.C. There are two wars to monitor, and bills to be passed to keep the economy afloat. And, of course, there’s the Bowl Championship Series to fix. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, urged the Justice Department on Tuesday to investigate the BCS for what he views as violations of antitrust laws. “Frankly, there’s an arrogance about the BCS that just drives me nuts,” he said. And Hatch has bipartisan support, as President Obama supports a playoff system. But it may end up taking an act of Congress to get it done. The Associated Press
