DENVER—Sen. Michael Bennet is getting more pressure on health care. A group supporting President Barack Obama’s health plan is rallying outside the Democratic senator’s Denver office.
People at Thursday’s rally by the liberal group MoveOn.org will call for Bennet to support public health insurance in Obama’s plan.
Bennet was also the target of radio ads last week on Christian radio stations in the Denver area asking him to support Obama’s plan. On the other side, television commercials running in Denver tell Bennet to oppose public health insurance.
The senator will be in Washington and not his Denver office. Bennet has said he supports reform broadly but that people should be able to keep their current coverage if they wish.
