LINCOLN, Neb.—A Nebraska football player arrested on suspicion of drunken driving has been fined $150 and ordered to enter pretrial diversion.
After a deal with prosecutors in Lincoln, wide receiver Niles Paul was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to reckless driving and being a minor in possession of alcohol.
In April, Paul was charged with reckless driving, being a minor in possession of alcohol and driving under suspension.
Prosecutors say a breath test indicated Paul’s blood-alcohol level was slightly above the legal limit of 0.08 percent. Paul was never charged with drunken driving, however.
He was suspended from the team and missed the spring game.
Paul, an Omaha North High School graduate, started four games as a sophomore last season.
