WHEAT RIDGE, Colo.—Police suspect an RV driver illegally dumped raw sewage into a holding pond near a school in the Denver suburb of Wheat Ridge.

A maintenance worker at Wheat Ridge High School discovered the sewage last week.

Authorities reviewed surveillance video and spotted a pickup camper parked near a drain that leads to the retention pond on June 25.

Police say the video shows a man lingering nearby, and they suspect he was the RV driver and was dumping the sewage from the camper.

School officials say it could take six weeks and cost $250,000 to clean the mess.

Police are looking for the man in the video. They say he could face a felony hazardous waste charge.
