BOULDER, Colo.—The Boulder Fire Department is investigating two structure fires that occurred within hours of each other in the same block and appear to be arson.
Boulder Fire Marshal David Lowrey says the outside wall of a detached garage was on fire late Sunday night. The fire was doused quickly and the damage was minimal.
The second blaze, at an apartment building, was reported early Monday. A carpeted cat post was on fire and the flames had spread to some items on the balcony.
That fire was also extinguished quickly. Lowrey says it appears that both fires were deliberately set and investigators are trying to determine if they are connected.
