DURANGO, Colo.—Authorities say a glider crashed into a grove near Durango Sunday, but the pilot appeared to suffer only minor injuries.

Durango Fire and Rescue Capt. Lou Vito says the glider crashed at about 3 p.m. near the landing strip of the Durango Soaring Club north of Durango.

The Durango Herald reports the glider was registered to Anthony Zaremba of Brenham, Texas. Mercy Regional Medical Center in Denver says Zaremba was treated and released Sunday evening.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the crash.

Durango Soaring Club spokeswoman Beverly St. Clair says Zaremba was in a private craft and was not among the pilots who provide rides for a fee at the club.

She says she has no information about the crash.
