Sen. Michael Bennet urged federal Treasury and housing officials Thursday to impose a temporary national moratorium on home foreclosures until they can put new programs into effect.
The remarks came during a Senate Banking Committee hearing that examined lending practices.
“Our homeowners are suffering tremendously,” Bennet said. “This is one of those cases where no one wins if a foreclosure that could have been avoided isn’t avoided.”
