LITTLETON, Colo.—A 7-year-old Littleton boy is hospitalized with severe burns after he set his condo on fire playing with a lighter.
West Metro Fire says the Friday evening fire was started by the boy. Neighbors heard screaming and saw the boy’s mother pull him from the blaze. Fire officials say the boy was playing with a lighter while hiding in his closet.
No other units were damaged in the fire.
The boy wasn’t named because of his age. Fire officials say he has been flown to a Shriner’s Hospital in California for treatment.
