DENVER—The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Brandon Yip to an entry-level contract.
Yip, Colorado’s eighth round pick in the 2004 NHL draft, played the previous four years with Boston University, which won the NCAA championship this year.
The 6-foot-1, 24-year-old Yip is a native of Vancouver.
