The Mesa County coroner’s office today identified the man whose body was found in the desert north of Grand Junction Saturday night.
Scott Carlson, 60, of Clifton was found outside a Toyota 4-Runner by recreationalists in the area northeast of 29 Road less than a mile north of Interstate 70.
Toxicology tests, which are pending, will determine the cause of death, officials said Thursday.
Though the Sheriff’s Department initially called the death suspicious, medical investigators have said they do not suspect foul play.
