Traffic is backed up on Interstate 70 near Silt this afternoon as the Colorado Department of Transportation assesses damage to a bridge clipped by tractor-trailer this afternoon.
There were no injuries reported in the accident, which occurred around 12:30 p.m. Crews are expected to reopen the road or determine soon if a longer closure is necessary, a CDOT spokesman said at 2:30 p.m.
The bridge is near I-70’s mile marker 97 in Garfield County. Detours are posted, but CDOT advised travelers to avoid the area, if possible, until further notice.
