9News viewers reported long backups lasting for hours.
Earlier Sunday, the Colorado Department of Transportation closed I-70 at mile marker 97, and diverted traffic at Silt. The interstate reopened there about 6 p.m. A tanker had hit an overpass.
That accident happened just before noon.
Garfield County authorities say the bridge crossing the interstate in Silt was also closed.
