Steve Spurrier used to say whatever he wanted. Winning just turned arrogance into confidence and adoration during his days at Florida. But at the SEC football preview Friday, the South Carolina coach used “embarrassed,” “apologize,” “mistake” and “messed up” a combined nine times while addressing a miscue on his all- SEC ballot after admittedly leaving Florida quarterback Tim Tebow off the conference’s first team. Spurrier said he didn’t double-check the ballot his football operations assistant filled out — with Ole Miss’ Jevan Snead as the quarterback. Post wire services; AP file photo
