GOLDEN &mdash Colorado School of Mines officials say the university has posted a record for fundraising this year with more than $30 million in gifts and commitments.
The school say research volume at the school is also at an all-time high with more than $50 million in awards. Officials say both figures are for the 2009 fiscal year that ended June 30.
Officials say the school’s endowment is estimated at $147 million.
About $8 million is expected to help fund the construction of a petroleum engineering building.
The University of Colorado also recently released the amount its foundation collected in the latest fiscal year. Officials there say they collected $101.3 million. That’s an 18 percent drop from the record $162.5 million collected the previous year.
