One of Frontier Airlines’ talking animals has won a regional Emmy award.

The ad features Larry the Lynx — one of the animals adorning the tails of Frontier’s planes — and announces the airline is switching to leather seats.

Larry explains Frontier doesn’t have a cow on any of its planes because “it would be creepy.”

The winning ad was rolled out in May 2008, and the award — in the category of “commercial, single spot”— was presented this month. Other ads feature a fox, a bear and other critters on Frontier planes.

A judge this month approved a plan by Republic Airways Holdings to buy Frontier for $108.8 million. The Associated Press
