A security alarm at a Colorado Springs lingerie and adult novelties store this morning set off a harrowing chase, in which police were allegedly fired on by the fleeing suspects.
The car chase became a foot chase before police arrested Delvikio Falkner, 29, of Colorado Springs and Orlando Guevara, 31, of Security about noon. The pair faces charges of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer and aggravated robbery.
As police responded to the burglar alarm at the Christal’s store at 2582 South Academy Blvd., the two men sped away in a Nissan Altima, firing several shots at the pursing officers.
The pair ditched about two miles away in the 2100 block of Fernwood Drive and ran, before being chased down, police said.
Customers were in the store at the time of the attempted robbery, police said.
