Denver received national recognition this month for having the the best trail systems in the nation.

Denver received the recognition in the July edition of Parks and Recreation, the official publication of the National Recreation and Park Association.

The article states of Denver’s trails: “Basically, anything you need to do, you can accomplish with a pair of walking shoes, a bike, or skates. This makes Denver a hiker and biker’s dream come true, a fact not wasted on its physically fit residents.”

With more than 100 miles of paved off-road trails, Denver has one of the biggest biking, hiking and jogging trail systems in the nation. Those paved trails also connect to hundreds of additional miles of dirt trails, many of which head up into the mountains and offer mountain biking.
