THORNTON — A man killed on East 120th Avenue about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday apparently placed a jacket down in the roadway before lying down and being struck by traffic, Thornton police said Wednesday.
Thornton police Cmdr. Dan Kelley said a preliminary investigation indicated the man walked into the eastbound center lane of East 120th just west of Colorado Boulevard.
A witness immediately called for emergency assistance, but before responders could arrive, the man was hit by one or more vehicles.
The identification of the man is pending notification of his family.
