The late makeup artist Shu Uemura believed the secret to beautiful makeup was to start with a pure, clean canvas. He always began a makeup application with a gentle but throughout cleaning, using the company’s signature product, cleansing oils that contain such botanical ingredients as green tea, bitter orange peel and camellia oil. New in stores from the company is a series of five oils for various skin types and conditions, packaged in bottles decorated with colorful, whimsical “kamon,” or crests, designed by the manga artist Moyoco Anno.
