Two men have been arrested in the July 21 shooting at the Montview Bar & Grill that killed one person and seriously wounded two others.

The suspects are Gerome Brooks, 25, and Welton L. Harris, 29.

Brooks is being held for investigation of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Harris is being held on suspicion of being an accessory to murder.

According to investigators, the incident began with a fight between two women in the bar, located at the corner of Montview Boulevard and Nome Street in Aurora.

After the fight, one of the women left the bar with two men.

As the trio drove away, a man opened fire on them, striking all three. The driver was able to make it to a hospital, where one of the men in the vehicle, 50-year-old Allen Pounds, later died.

Brooks is being held without bail in the Adams County Jail. Harris is being held on $5,000 bail.
