Waves of participants will run the stairs in the stadium while live bands play and organizations in the “Community Villages” dispense information. Day-of-event registration is $40 for adults, $20 for specially abled participants and steppers age 17 and younger and age 60 and older. No charge for children age 3 and younger. Visit for more information, and for details on last-minute preregistration. Kathleen St. John

Thursday. The Wildcats take to the stage again in Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids’ production of “High School Musical 2.” Starring RMTK’s summer students, the show is based on the hit movie: It’s summer break, and the East High kids are working at a local country club. Well, some of them are — others are sitting poolside and scheming to break up the school’s star couple. Lots of singing and dancing ensues. 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Thursday through Aug. 8. Kenneth King Performing Arts Center, on the Auraria Campus, 855 Lawrence Way, Denver.; 303-556-2179. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for kids age 12 and younger.
