COMMERCE CITY — A Commerce City infant was found not breathing early Sunday and later died at a hospital, police said.

Officer Christian Rasmussen, a spokesman for Commerce City police, said it was too early to say whether the death was suspicious.

“We’re going to investigate this just as we would any other case,” he said Sunday afternoon. “We’ll wait to see what the coroner says and what the toxicology tells us.”

Emergency crews were called to the home near East 60th Avenue and Hudson Street about 1:45 a.m.

Family members were performing CPR on the 1-year-old girl when help arrived, Rasmussen said.

The child had been found unresponsive in her bed, he said.
