Starting for the second consecutive game against the Phillies, Dexter Fowler provided one of the few offensive highlights for the Rockies when he doubled to left-center in the third inning Wednesday night. However, Fowler made his second baserunning error in two games. After reaching on a walk to lead off the game, he left for second base too soon on a steal attempt and was nabbed during a rundown. Fowler was thrown out at second base Tuesday night trying to stretch a single into a double.
Rollins now rolling.
Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins, who beat out Matt Holliday for National League MVP in 2007, began the season in an awful slump at Citizens Bank Park. He hit just .192 at home in his first 35 games, but he has sizzled since. He hit a two-run homer Tuesday and followed up with another two-run shot Wednesday. He extended his hitting streak to 11 games and is hitting .325 (26-for-80) with six home runs and 21 RBIs in his last 19 home games.
