A 33-year-old firefighter for the Tri Lakes Fire Protection District in Monument was arrested Friday in Parker on charges of luring of a child through the Internet.
Authorities identified the firefighter as Shane D. Hayden of Colorado Springs.
According to the Parker Police Department, beginning in July, Hayden contacted a juvenile girl in Parker via the Internet.
The chats turned sexual in nature, and Hayden allegedly requested to meet the girl for sexual purposes.
When Hayden arrived in Parker on Friday for a scheduled meeting with the child, he was taken into custody.
