Denver-area government workers enrolled in Colorado’s Public Employees Retirement Association tonight will get the chance to speak their mind about the pension system’s problems.
PERA’s Board of Trustees is holding the first of eight statewide “listening tours” from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Denver Police Protective Association facility, 2105 Decatur St.
Coloradans will be able to log on to a live webcast and view the hearing. Viewers can watch the webcast by visiting and following the link on the home page.
PERA officials will make a presentation about the pension system’s history, economic conditions and “possible contribution and benefit changes under consideration.”
Then the board will open up the meeting for public discussion. Tim Hoover, The Denver Post
