A 38-year-old homeless man was arrested over the weekend after police said he slammed his head into the head of a Boulder police officer after attempting to bite the officer.
John Abram Smith could face charges of second-degree assault of a peace officer, two counts of felony menacing and resisting arrest.
Police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley said the trouble began around 4:40 p.m. Saturday when Smith reportedly pulled a knife on a couple of people on a bike path at 13th Street and Arapahoe Avenue.
When responding officers put Smith in a patrol car, Huntley said, he tried to bite the officer nearest to him and then head-butted her.
