The Rapids’ Conor Casey, beyond becoming a mainstay on the international level with U.S. Soccer, has risen to the top of the Major League Soccer scoring list.
Major League Soccer on Monday tabbed the Rapids forward its player of the week after Casey scored three goals in the first half of a 4-0 victory over Chivas USA on Saturday.
It was Casey’s second hat trick of the season and helped jump the Rapids into sole possession of third place in the Western Conference.
With 11 goals this season, Casey leads the MLS in the race for the Golden Boot trophy, for the league’s top scorer.
