DENVER—Two people who say they were mistakenly jailed for days in Denver are in settlement talks with the city.

In court documents filed Monday, U.S. District Magistrate Kristen Mix said two of six people who sued Denver were in the final stages of negotiations on a settlement.

Monday had been the deadline Mix set for the city to turn over documents in the case.

The plaintiffs claim that officers ignored facts showing that in each case, they arrested the wrong person. The lawsuit says they were jailed for an average of nine days and claims the defendants weren’t promptly brought before a judge.
