Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. of Boulder has completed a comprehensive review and testing of NASA’s Widefield Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE satellite. The satellite has been packed for shipment in mid- August to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. It is set for launch in December on a Centennial-based United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket. Ball built the spacecraft, which will spend seven months orbiting Earth and surveying the sky in infrared wavelengths to collect data and catalog millions of objects.
