LINCOLN, Neb.—A short scrimmage emphasizing short-yardage and goal-line situations highlighted the first of two Nebraska football practices.
Coach Bo Pelini said he saw some good things during the live action Friday but that the team needs to improve in many areas.
Pelini says freshman Eric Martin has shown up well in early practices, a pleasant development for a defense that is young at linebacker.
Pelini said the Cornhuskers might scrimmage again Saturday. The team will get the day off Sunday.
