Adam Eaton pointed at the lineup card Friday as proof that he was available to pitch. He got into the game sooner than expected after Jason Hammel’s meltdown. Eaton worked three innings, allowing two runs. With reliever Juan Rincon, out with elbow stiffness, eligible to come off the disabled list next week, Eaton made a statement. “He was impressive, showed that maybe he’s more than just a longman out there,” pitching coach Bob Apodaca said.

Dexter Fowler was given a day to rest his bruised left knee after collecting four hits Thursday. Fowler said the leg is improving, but it’s going to be a bit before he’s 100 percent.
