The man who has taken care of the hockey ice at the University of North Dakota for nearly half a century is retiring. Friday was the last day for 69-year-old Denny Gunderson, who first started working on campus in 1964. During Gunderson’s run atop the Zamboni, the UND hockey program played in three different buildings, went through six coaches, won five national titles and saw 144 players get drafted by NHL teams.
