LINCOLN, Neb.—Archery hunters seeking an antelope this year are being encouraged to begin with the Nebraska season’s start of Aug. 20.
Kit Hams is big-game program manager for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. He says the muzzleloader season begins Sept. 19. Hams says the presence of muzzleloader hunters will make the antelope even spookier.
The archery antelope hunting season runs through Nov. 13. It reopens Nov. 23 and runs through Dec. 31.
State officials say archers bagged 107 antelope in 2008.
