BOULDER — A district judge agreed on Monday to delay former Marine Lance Hering’s hearing on a deferred burglary sentence until after his Oct. 13 trial on a misdemeanor charge of false reporting and conspiracy stemming from his staged disappearance from Eldorado Canyon State Park in August 2006.

Hering’s attorney, Alex Garlin, has said he is trying to reach an agreement with prosecutors in the misdemeanor case, which would spare his client a felony conviction in the burglary case.
