DENVER—Colorado has a new state senator.
Bruce Whitehead, a Democrat from Hesperus, was sworn in by state Supreme Court Justice Gregory J. Hobbs on Monday. He replaces Jim Isgar, who resigned to take a job with the federal government.
Whitehead is a civil engineer specializing in Colorado water issues. He worked for 25 years for the Colorado Division of Water Resources and is now executive director of both the Southwest and Animas-La Plata water districts.
