The Avalanche today confirmed that veterans will report for physicals on Sept. 12, and then open training camp the next morning at Family Sports Center in Centennial.
The vets will be on the ice for 9 a.m. sessions on Sept. 13-15 (all are open to the public) before the Sept. 16 Burgundy-White intrasquad game at the Air Force Academy (6:30 p.m.). The exhibition season opener is Sept. 17 against Dallas at the Pepsi Center.
Prior to the veteran report date, the team also will conduct a three-day rookie camp on Sept. 9-11 at Family Sports, also with 9 a.m. starting times.
The Avalanche regular-season opener is Oct. 1, at home against San Jose. The team will retire Joe Sakic’s No. 19 in pregame ceremonies that night.
