Canadian musician Dave Carroll has posted a second video on YouTube stemming from his 2008 claim that United Airlines broke his guitar.

Carroll shot to fame last month when his first video, “United Breaks Guitars,” was viewed more than 5 million times.

The humorous video, performed with a country twang, told Carroll’s months-long tale of trying to get United to acknowledge his claim. Eventually, United offered him $3,000.

Carroll, who hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia, asked United to contribute the money to charity. In July, United donated it to the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz’s children’s music program.

The new video, featuring a polka beat and deployed Tuesday, is part of a planned trilogy.

United spokeswoman Robin Urbanski said the second video suggests “something we’ve already done — and that is to provide our agents with a better way to escalate and respond to special situations.”

Urbanski said 99.95 percent of United customers’ bags are delivered on time and without incident. Ann Schrader, The Denver Post
