BALTIMORE—Coach Bob Bowman says Olympic swimmer Katie Hoff will train in California for the 2012 Olympic games.
Bowman said Hoff has decided to leave the North Baltimore Aquatic Club, where she has trained since 2003, for a Fullerton, Calif., training center. The coach said she reached the decision over the weekend to switch coaches and training locations and his main concern is for her happiness and success.
The 20-year-old swimmer won a silver and two bronze medals in the 2008 Beijing games.
Bowman said the switch will be like going away to college, which Hoff has never done, and will be an opportunity for a new start.
