ORLANDO, Fla.—A Powerball ticket sold in South Carolina matched all six of the numbers drawn to win the midweek Powerball jackpot worth $259.9 million, the Multi-State Lottery Association said.

The winning numbers Wednesday were 14, 24, 31, 43 and 51. The Powerball was 27 and the multiplier was 5.

There was no immediate word about the specific location where the winning ticket was sold.

Four Power Play tickets sold in Florida, Iowa and Indiana matched the first five numbers only to win $1 million each. The top prize in Colorado was $50,000 for a Power Play ticket that matched the Powerball and four of the other numbers, Colorado Lottery officials said.

The jackpot will be worth an estimated $20 million on Saturday.

Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.

The game is now played in 30 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
