Getting your player ready...
LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska assistant coach Ted Gilmore says Niles Paul has risen to the top of the depth chart among wide receivers.
Gilmore, who coaches the receivers, said after the first of Friday’s two practices that Paul has earned a starting job. The junior out of Omaha North caught 23 passes for 214 yards last season.
The Cornhuskers went through their last day of two-a-day practices. Classes begin Monday.
As many as 16 players have gotten a look at receiver spots in preseason camp, and Gilmore said the coaches have a lot of decisions to make before the Sept. 5 opener against Florida Atlantic.
