ARLINGTON, Texas — Twins first baseman Justin Morneau missed his third straight game Thursday and returned to Minnesota to be examined by a specialist for an inner ear infection. Morneau has experienced dizziness from the ear problem since last weekend. He is scheduled to see an ear, nose and throat doctor today.
“They keep saying it should go away eventually, but I’d like it to go away quicker than it has, so it’s time to see a specialist,” Morneau said.
Myers makes rehab start
CLEARWATER, Fla. — Phillies right-hander Brett Myers struck out three in his first rehab appearance since having hip surgery nearly three months ago, an outing pushed back five days after he injured his eye while stepping out of his car.
Pitching for Single-A Clearwater, Myers gave up two hits and threw 13 of his 19 pitches for strikes. He said he felt good and was ready for his next outing.
