Allison Jones of Colorado Springs leads the state’s contingent on the U.S. adaptive alpine ski team’s roster, which has its sights on podium finishes at the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver.
Jones is coming off two podiums in the 2009 World Cup campaign — and she also earned a silver medal in cycling at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. Monica Bascio of Evergreen, who was second in the 2009 World Cup standings, was named to the adaptive cross country team.
Carl Burnett of Winter Park and George Sansonetis of Fraser were named to the men’s alpine “B” team.

Wyoming wrestling coach Mark Branch wants his Cowboys to face tough competition, and he will get his wish with a schedule that features three home meets against top-25 teams from last season — including Oklahoma State, the most successful program in college wrestling with 34 national championships.
The OSU dual meet is Jan. 29 at the Arena-Auditorium. The other matches are at the UniWyo Sports Complex, including last year’s No. 19 team, North Carolina State, on Jan. 5. Western Wrestling Conference rival Northern Iowa, No. 22 at the end of last season, visits on Jan. 30.
