Looking shy and awkward under the glare of media attention, South African runner Caster Semenya returned home Tuesday amid questions about her gender after her 800-meter victory at the world championships. South Africa’s president vowed he would not permit her gold medal to be taken away, no matter what gender tests say. The answer might lie right before our eyes. “While there have been calls for the athlete to take a gender test,” noted the London Daily Mirror, “could the answer be found by a quick rearrangement of her name?
