CHEYENNE — Wyoming’s unemployment rate climbed to 6.5 percent in July, its highest rate in more than 20 years.
According to the Wyoming Department of Employment, the state lost about 8,900 jobs from July 2008 through last month. The main losses over the year included 4,400 jobs in the construction sector and 4,200 jobs from natural resources and mining.
